What is the the Heathrow Airport Future Leaders Graduate Scheme?
The Heathrow Airport Future Leaders Graduate Programme describes itself as a “fast-paced leadership programme,” where you’ll get to “learn exactly what it takes to be a future business leader.” Over the course of 18 months, trainees undertake three six-month placements exposing them to a wide variety of business areas, from finance to retail to security, and equipping them with the skills to launch a high-level business career.

But what is day-to-day life on the scheme actually like? We spoke to Theo, a current trainee, to find out what he does every day, what sort of skills he thinks the scheme develops, and what sort of person he thinks would thrive at Heathrow.

Theo Baldwin-Evans studied History at the University of Warwick with a year studying abroad at McMaster University, Ontario, Canada.
Having been a keen traveller throughout his childhood and teenage years, Theo applied to Heathrow’s ‘Future Leaders’ graduate scheme whilst in his last year at Warwick.
He is currently working in the operations department in Terminal 3 and is project-managing the construction of a new customer lounge.
